The countdown for the World Floorball Championships (WFC) is on. Today 12 days remain until the first face-off in Malmö. Sixteen nations are pitted against each other in the highlight of the year. Get to know the teams that are participating and competing for gold.
Qualifications
Denmark played in Group E of the WFC qualification alongside Slovenia, Switzerland, Italy, and Belgium. In the first match, they faced Slovenia, which turned out to be a close game that ended in a narrow loss for Denmark, 2-3. Next, they played a strong Switzerland team, losing 11-3. In the third match, it was also a tight contest, but Denmark eventually won against Italy, 5-4. In the final group match, Denmark secured a more comfortable win, defeating Belgium 10-1. Finishing in third place in the group, Denmark was able to secure their spot at the WFC in Malmö. Since it’s only a 20-minute train ride from Copenhagen to Malmö, Denmark will feel almost at home this December.

Lukas Eldholm is an ambitious and smart all-round player. He has many years of experience in Sweden’s top league (SSL) and started gaining experience in national team contexts at a young age and made an impact early on. He is a two-way player and a hard worker who always gets the job done. Eldholm can both decide matches and provide assists to his teammates. He has a strong game understanding and good physique. With his experience, he will surely be able to make a significant impact at the WFC in Malmö.
